A little fishin

Yesterday was a beautiful day and the perfect chance to take Maverick fishing with his new poll the Easter bunny brought.

This is Maverick's excited thing he does, he shakes and makes his mouth look like a bird beak. Its sooooooo cute. He loved watching daddy cast his poll

This was something Nephi has waited his whole life to do, fish with his son. He loved it

"Look at me cast daddy"

No Maverick didn't catch this fish, I did. And of course no one got my picture because I'm the only one that takes pictures. And yes it was very hard for me to let him touch it, don't even worry I WASHED his hands! But I'm happy to say I'm the only one that caught a fish!

It was a great day spent as a family. Nephi thought Maverick was a little hard, but I just kept reminding him that he is a 2 year old. Enough said.

Easter 2009

We had a wonderful time this morning watching Maverick light up to see what the Easter bunny had brought him. This is first thing this morning walking into find his treasures.......

The Easter Bunny brought a new CARS fishing poll so He can fish with Daddy

A mouth full of jelly beans saying "Cheese" could not look any cuter

Tyson's Easter present

My Easter basket

Nephi's Easter basket

And bubba's Easter basket

Its so fun to watch this little family grow and start our own traditions. I also would like to take the time to thank my father in heaven for giving the ultimate gift, his son. I cant help but feel the love of my heavenly father and know that he is here. So many people loose sight of the true meaning of Easter. Having Maverick has let me feel a love I never knew I had in me, I couldn't imagine sacrificing my first and only son. I'm eternally grateful for the gospel and the comfort and strength it gives me. I'm thankful to know that I will be with my family forever. I'm very proud to be a latter day saint in these trying times. I hope that all of you have felt the spirit as I have today and continue to focus on the true meaning of Easter. My heart is overwhelmed

Finally pics of the house

So the best way I would describe my house is, RETRO. It was built in the 70's and I just think it has a lot of character. The yard is a work in progress. We just put some new seed down and covered it in cow poop. So the outside smells lovely. I love the homey feeling it has inside. I only posted a few pics because there is so much more I want to do to decorate it and it just looks plain right now. It has a front room, which I posted a pic of and a HUGE family room. The family room used to be a garage. It was converted to the family room, I didn't post a pic because its huge and boring, nothing on the walls yet. I also didn't post pics of the bathroom, because who really wants to see those. Which we have two of. And I haven't posted Maverick's room yet because lets just say its a work in progress too. We are trying to put him in a big boy bed and when we do I will decorate his room different than it is now. The babies room just has some storage in it right now, boy am I rambling.
Anyway we love love love being here. Last night marked the 5th bar-b-que we have had on our back patio and its not even the middle of April. The weather has been great and We have loved entertaining our friends and feeding them good food. I feel so blessed to finally be in a home. After what I went through in my first marriage and what Nephi did in his, we NEVER thought we would have a house this soon, if ever.

Of course Tyson has to be in the pic, and Maverick is the the doorway of the other living room

The kitchen is on the small side but I dont need more room. There is a pantry you cant see and it holds alot of stuff

Our sweet patio that is so much fun to sit on and watch my son play with the dog

And our big fenced in back yard, of course there is Tyson again. lol

I'M BACK!!!

So after along couple of weeks I'm finally back to the blogging world. We moved into our new house and are loving it!! Its so wonderful to open the blinds in the morning and see the sunshine. I didn't realize how depressing it had become living in a basement. We love the extra space and being able to have our things in a storage room and not taking up our whole closets. Maverick loves being able to play outside in the back yard. The only new thing I have to get used to with that is now he has to have a bath EVERY Night instead of every other the way I was getting away with before. Oh well I guess that's all part of having a boy. I will post some pictures of the house as soon as I take some.
I have my first doctors appointment on Thursday. Its my 10 week, and it feels like its taking forever!! I'm feeling better than I was at the beginning. I'm really tired but what can you expect? The other exciting news is we GOT A NEW DOG!!!!

We weren't planning on it but took Maverick to the shelter to see the doggies and fell in love with a little man named Tyson. OK so he's not little but he and Maverick just love each other and it feels like he should have been here all along. He's a lab, bull mastiff, pit bull mix. He's 2 and full of life. I've been having alot of nightmares with this pregnancy and having a hard time being in a new place, so having Tyson around has totally changed all of that.
Anyway this is a really long post but Ive had alot going on.

Maverick has something to tell eveyone....

If you cant tell, Maverick wasn't really feeling like having his picture taken. But he is so happy to announce that's he's going to be a big brother.

We couldn't be happier. The blessings we have in our lives right now are unreal! New house, New baby, doesn't get any better. The best part of the story is, that the baby will be due on or around my birthday!! October 25th, isn't that the best present ever? Although I am feeling sick with this one and didn't with Maverick I'm so thankful to be pregnant. Fingers crossed that everything goes well.

So I had no need for a title to this post, This pic explains it all. YES we are moving, but dont freak out. Ok so Heavenly Father is always aware of us and through trials is where we find him the most. And for all of you that know Nephi and I you know we havent had the best circumstances in our lives. Luckily they lead us to each other but we have had trails here too. Well with the situation we were both left in after our first marriages we never ever thought we would be getting into a home anytime soon. So as luck would have it a couple in our ward had been praying about finding someone to rent their house. They had bought another house in the ward and have had touble selling the other. Through prayer they felt strongly about asking us. Well....... they are willing to rent to us for a year and at the end of the year evaluate the situation and see where things stand. From that point on they want to talk about helping us buy the house. So its in our same ward and only a few blocks from where we are. Can you believe it???? Its three bedroom, two bath and has a great front yard and a fenced back. I am so overwhelmed with emotion about this. I feel the spirit so stong in our lives right now. I cant even believe how blessed we are and how aware of us our Father in Heaven is. I know that this is going to be an adventure, and I cant wait to start it. We will be moving the last week of March. So Im sure alot of pics will be coming soon. I just had to share this wonderful news, and I needed a reason for a post. What a dang good reason.

MaKiN cOoKiEs WiTh MaMa

I just love being a mom, and nights like tonight make it even better. Bubba wanted to "help" me make cookies tonight. He was in awe of the kitchen aid mixer, it was really cute. He kept trying to sneak a finger or two in when he thought I wasn't looking.

So I thought, What the heck might as well teach him the true reason mommy likes to make cookies in the first place..................... EATING THE DOUGH

While we were waiting for the cookies to come out of the oven we find cheap entertainment from Maverick, aka wanna be Mr. Potato head.

I don't know why he loves wearing these glasses but it cracks me up!!
Recently Bubba also discovered that he likes to dip his cookies in milk like daddy, this picture is so darling

And last but not least I thought Id share with you all the best chocolate chip recipe, it makes them soft and soooo chewy.
1c. butter
1c. sugar
1c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2c. oatmeal(powdered in blender)
1/2tsp salt
1tsp. baking powder
1tsp. baking soda
1tsp. vanilla
2c. flour
1pkg. chocolate chips

preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cream butter and sugars. Blend in eggs; add oatmeal. Mix dry ingredients. Mix will be very stiff. Mix in chips. Put 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9 min-no more

I hope you love these cookies as much as we do. When we eat them it feels like, THERES A PARTY IN MY TUMMY, SO YUMMY SO YUMMY. If you've seen yo gabba gabba you'll know that song. hahahaha

Fireproof

Edit from first time posting.....This movie does have very cheesy acting, just take to heart the message. :)

So after seeing this movie on one of my friends blogs, I decided to get it and see what its about. All I can say is that it couldn't have come at a better time in our lives to watch it. Marriage is work, theres no other way to put it. And sometimes its hard work and we don't feel like fighting for it anymore. Nephi and I have both had some things we have had to heal from from the past and trying to keep a good marriage has been alot of trial and error. This movie struck a heart string for me and made me realize how much I love Nephi and that no matter how hard life gets I will love him. Love is a choice, and sometimes its not the easy one but its the one that's most worth it. There is a book that is in the movie that you can follow called "The Love Dare". Its a 40 day challenge for husbands and wives to practise unconditional love. I'm not even kidding as soon as the movie ended we loaded up in the car and went to Barnes and Noble and bought it. I'm excited to see our lives change even more. I strongly recommend this movie and book to EVERYONE!!

I love this scripture that is on the back of the book, Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:7-8
If any of you watch this movie please tell me what you think, Or if you have already seen it tell me your thoughts too. I feel so uplifted today and I'm so thankful for that

SOOO Thankful for the gospel

Next month on the 12th will mark my 4 years of being baptised. I was going to wait to do this post but my heart has been so full I just couldn't wait. Reflecting back on these last four years I can't even begin to keep count of all of the many blessings I have in my life. I am so grateful for the experiences I had in my first marriage the way it lead me to my baptism. I have no regrets in my life and know that Heavenly Father had this path laid out for me from the beginning. I'm grateful for the many wonderful people the gospel has brought into my life and clarity I have. I went so many years of my life feeling so lost and alone. I love having the companionship of the holy spirit and comfort he brings to me. I'm thankful for all of the friends I have that never gave up on me and sharing their testimonies with me. Now you cant deny how lovely I look in this jumpsuit! I had one of my greatest friends ever, (my adopted brother) baptise me and made him wear a jumpsuit too. Your welcome again for that one Big D! Darren was my boss in physical therapy and never missed a day sharing the gospel with me. I felt it was only fitting to have him do the honors. It was really neat the font he baptised me in is the same one he was baptised in when he was 8. The pic of us outside the church doors is the same place he had his pic taken when he was 8 also. I thought that was awsome.

The other awsome part of these pics is Elder Chamberlain. He is one in the red tie, he taught me the new member discussions for months and months, including many hair cuts and dinner. He is also the handsome fella in the pic below who flew all the way from Alaska four years later to be there for the sealing of my little family. I still cant explain how much that meant to me and how much I love him, thank you again Dan for coming.

Nicole,(Pud) is one of my close friends. Without her example in my life and love her and her wonderful parents have shown me, I don't know where I would be. They never gave up on me.

Newly sealed and happy family, September 20th 2008. Who would have thought I would be going through the temple with my family. Life doesn't get any better than this folks!

The Hanson's Nicole's truly wonderful parents. I love them

This is Darren and his wife Marci. I don't know where I would be without you big D. I love you and your family so much.

And this is the Bardsley family. Courtney is a friend that cherish and am so grateful to have in my life. Her parents are truly angels and have taught me so much. Court, you are so strong and such an inspiration to me. Thank you.

Mt. Dew

So if you know anything at all about my hubby Nephi you would know that he is in love with Mt. Dew. He drinks alot of it. Well I NEVER let Maverick drink soda so if he ever even gets a sip its because he sneaks it or daddy lets him have some. So when I walked into the living room and saw this I thought I should take a pic instead of have a come apart. Nephi is watching t.v. and has no clue that his son is in 7th heaven drinking from a mug half his size. He really thought he hit the jackpot.

The Haka and a Birthday party

My friend Shano celebrated his 30th birthday today. Shano is a Rugby player from New Zealand and is very very good at the Haka. The haka is a chant that the players do before their games to intimidate the other team. It used to be an ancient war chant. While at Shano's birthday party tonight we convinced him to do it for the kids. First of all Maverick loves Shano, second he loves watching the haka on YOUTUBE. He loves sticking out his tongue like the guys and get way excited by it. So I knew he would love it. We sat the kids on the coffee table and let them watch. It was so stinkin cute, Maverick had his tongue out the whole time while grinning from ear to ear.

Happy 30th old man Shano. We love you and Veronica very much. Thanks for the party and we will miss you while you are in New Zealand these next two weeks.

Please check out this awsome video of the Haka.
